Don’t force yourself to do things that don’t feel good to you, if you really don’t want to do them. So, if you hate going to bars, don’t go every weekend. You want to act from a place of lightness and inspiration when you do act. You don’t want to act from a place of force or fear. There is never anything we must do to attract a certain thing into our life. If taking certain actions makes you feel good in the sense it nurtures a feeling that you will get find this relationship, then go for it. Just don’t get attached to the online dating, the blind dates, and the various outings that will put you in contact with the types of people you hope to meet. Have fun with it.
No matter what comes up, don't shut any of it down because it seems silly, irrational or whatever... if it is coming up, it's relevant and a very real feeling and belief that must be addressed. Pay attention to any memories that float in your mind...even if they have nothing to do with romantic relationships, there is a similar thread energetically, and will help you uncover beliefs and feelings that are blocking you.
“I was looking for a relationship and when I came to your group I realised that was my problem- I was looking too much, and all the time. It was a tiring process and I had done all of the dating sites and just met with disappointment. I could never square the advice I had been given- on the one hand I needed to create vision boards and focus on love or do actions, and on the other hand I needed to let it go because ‘you find love when you’re not looking for it’. The problem was I couldn’t stop looking no matter how much I tried. I realised I needed a hobby to replace my current hobby- looking for love- which wasn’t helping me find love and also wasn’t making me feel happy. So I put it all on the Universe List and joined a local political group of all things. Although I had read in certain spiritual books that politics could be ‘negative’, it felt good to me, and it was my guidance so I followed it. At first shy, I got my confidence up and began to speak to small groups of people. I became passionate about my local community. And then I met my ‘one’ as I now call him, through the organisation. The thing is I didn’t join the group to meet a man- and that seems to me a major point- I just followed my inner nudge to do something that I enjoyed and there he was.”
The process of attraction happens at the level of what we feel and believe, and when you don’t set standards and boundaries, this shows you don’t feel very good about yourself, and that you have a lot of crappy beliefs that essentially amount to not feeling good enough, and not being deserving of the best life has to offer. These types of beliefs can mess with various aspects of our life, but can be particularly problematic in the love department. And guess what types of people and situations we attract when we feel this way? Shitty, shitty, shitty ones.
Hi. I was in a relationship with a guy for awhile but we split in 2008. Since then he has had a girlfriend and I think they still live together. I have dated since then but have been unsuccessful in finding that combustible chemistry that I had with him, with someone else. We would always reconnect on and off throughout the entire time we were broken up until last year. We both sort of faded and haven’t been in touch for about a year and 6 months now. We may not be meant to be together but I miss the initial friendship we had prior to us being in a relationship; we were so close and complimented each other well. I have let go, forgiven and accepted what was and what is but recently felt intense energy wanting him back in my life and it’s never been this intense since the first couple of months following the breakup. I have been single ever since, but have gone on plenty dates as I am never lacking suitors. I am no longer in love with him but I do still love him and miss his presence, chemistry, companionship and energy. I have accomplished many goals that I’ve set but there’s this void that has yet to be satisfied, which I’m afraid can only be fulfilled by him or someone/something similar. I’ve read that letting go will attract, which I have done but he hasn’t completely come back. I never pressure, I play it cool and may even come off passive. When we reconnect, I hide my hurt and heart and don’t mention getting back together because I feel we’re not at the point yet. I was his first girlfriend and he was my first boyfriend as well. I’ve given it space, time and room to breath as I trust in divine intervention as well as universal laws. I’ve thought happy and positive thoughts, I’ve even tried to create visuals in my mind but nada. What could be going on? I miss him a lot.
Ever notice how travel magazines show a beautiful destination, maybe a white sand beach and azure blue sky? And, there is always a table and empty chair. Your mind is attracted to the empty chair. It wants you to be there. Goals are the same. The law of attraction is energised by the gap between here and there. So long as it is bridgeable (see tip 21).
Lately I’ve been teaching my daughter Emily (age 10) how to manifest coins. I do this by turning it into a game. When we’re out walking together, I challenge her to see if she can find more coins than I can. The first time I did this, she was really bad at it. I found several coins during our walk together, often coins that she walked right past without even noticing. Instead of finding coins, she didn’t notice anything. The coins didn’t register within her perceptual reality.
For law of attraction to work, it is important for you to have a clear sense of your feelings. Often infatuation and short-term physical attraction are confused for love. Having opposite feelings to what you desire can impact the law of attraction. Here are some ways to understand whether you want to be romantically involved with your partner or it’s just another attraction.
Affirm your belief in your soulmate. While you’ve already worked hard to combat limiting beliefs and create a clear image of the person you want to be with, you make it easier for the Universe to send that person your way if you constantly stay connected to your belief that they exist. Try daily affirmations (written or spoken) like “I am looking for love, and my soulmate is on their way to me”. Plus, “Nothing will stop me from receiving the love of my soulmate.”
