I’ve been studying LoA for a few years now and have read countless books on the matter. To me, Napoleon Hill’s book was by far the best because it wasn’t just full of platitudes, it actually gave me some actionable items and did tell me that a certain amount of work was involved. This was important to me because I have a core belief (right or wrong) that you can’t get something for nothing. With that said, even with all the research I have done, and the belief that LoA exists, I have yet to experience any positive outcomes from using any of the techniques. Doing yet more research, I have come to the conclusion that there are two things that I am doing wrong, or more concisely, unable to achieve. The first being that I can not seem to attach a feeling to a desire. Try as I may, there remains some disconnect somewhere. Second, I have a lot of negative self talk and some negative core beliefs (both of which I am working to change… more research). I believe that these two things sabotage any attempt by me to manifest things. As I am practicing LoA, the little voice in my head (my Ego) will tell me that I am being foolish, or that “this doesn’t work”, etc. I tell it to shut up but it never does and introduces doubt every time. This actually brings up a third problem. Unwavering faith. You mentioned faith to get you back on track. Where do you find this? How do you develop it? Do you have any suggestions on any of these issues? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Then something strange happened. Someone at work who I thought was a really good person confided in me about a problem he had – and he had done exactly what my partner had done and was suffering because of it. It was uncanny how similar it was to my situation, but here I was hearing the ‘other side’. At first it was difficult because I had my own judgement, but as I listened to him, I started to understand what my partner was going through – something I had never thought of before. For all this time I had seen him as a really horrible person out to get me, but I felt myself soften as I heard my colleague’s story. I started to see it from his point of view, which was so similar to my ex partner’s. Like a miracle, new insights and this relaxed sense of forgiveness washed over me. This was the answer I had asked for. I can honestly say I have let go of this situation that had been taking over my life and I feel great. This Universe List process is powerful!”
“Me and my husband weren’t getting on at all and then I remembered something a woman said at the group who was in a similar situation. So I did a version of the Positive Aspects process: I went through the alphabet thinking of good qualities about him: A- Attractive when we went out last week, B- Bought me a beautiful birthday present, C- Committed to his family and work, D- Determined to feel good, E- Easy going and relaxed… And on I went. After a very short time my feelings of anger and criticism melted away. I began doing this process every day, in the morning before work. Initially I have to admit I wanted to do the processes to change him- but after a while I was doing it because it felt so good. Within a week or so he bought me flowers- he hasn’t done that for years. He started paying me compliments and now he’s booked a holiday for us. He also has told me how much he loves me and I, too, feel more in love with him than I have in a long time.”
I know this can sound like a tall order. We are so conditioned to basing how we feel on outside events. It is easy to feel good when something happens that gives us a reason to—cultivating warm, fuzzies in the absence (or what we perceive to be the absence) of something to be happy about can take a bit of work. Feeling good even if things happen that you don’t like can take some practice. Living reactively will really put a damper on the attraction process, and it is a habit that needs to be addressed.
The major dilemma with the LOA is: did I attract this or did I feel it coming? In your story I only see intuition, no attraction: you were in an unsatisfying relationship and deep inside you were feeling it would end sooner or later. You met someone at the right time for both of you and you are both attracted to each other. To put this to the test, start imagining every evening that Gisele Bundchen will fall in love with you and you will see that you won’t attract her just because you are not meant to be together. Getting my point?
Your experience is a common one with manifesting, regardless of the desire. We do all this work, inner and outer, we don’t get the results we want, we get super-pissed, say f$ck it, and give up. Then usually some good stuff comes in from the positive momentum that has been built up, now that the massive resistance has diminished. Now, while doing a lot of stuff that makes us feel badly, or taking a lot of action for a long time without results, usually leads us to a point where we surrender, it is not the best approach to take because it isn’t necessary. It’s not something you want to consciously do. You don’t want to force yourself into surrender. You can take action if you feel compelled, but just make sure it feels good, and you don’t get attached to those channels as being the way that person must come to you.
Your English could easily pass for an English speaker. I also love writing and started to blog, but realized I didn’t have a theme that would produce thoughts to the world. It’s fine, as being on the computer is already quite time consuming. Or in the lingua of the above topic, I guess it’s not my all consuming wish :) In any case, I felt as you did – that all that attraction stuff does lead to hard work, and even then, no guarantees. I don’t care for any system that has built into it a “failure” clause, because you didn’t do this or that. Being positive, having dreams, working hard, all good stuff, but again, life isn’t ours always to control.
I live without a car for several years but have access to a friend’s car a few days a week. I haven’t earned enough money to feel comfortable maintaining a car, so I’m not in the market. My friend finds a decent car that’s only $1200 and he’ll loan me the money to buy it, register and insure it. We agree to buy the car, but it’s not available until the current owner’s grandfather hands his car to his grandson. Three weeks pass. Six weeks. This isn’t happening.
3) The Third List: Your Gifts. The third list is, in my opinion, the most important one. Your soul mate will not be coming into your life to rescue you, make you happy, or save your life. A soul mate is a friend and partner with whom you’ll be sharing your life. Someone who will love, nurture and support you while you love, nurture and support them. Someone who understands the power and beauty of a true soulmate union and will hold the space for love, even when you can’t.
“I was looking for a relationship and when I came to your group I realised that was my problem- I was looking too much, and all the time. It was a tiring process and I had done all of the dating sites and just met with disappointment. I could never square the advice I had been given- on the one hand I needed to create vision boards and focus on love or do actions, and on the other hand I needed to let it go because ‘you find love when you’re not looking for it’. The problem was I couldn’t stop looking no matter how much I tried. I realised I needed a hobby to replace my current hobby- looking for love- which wasn’t helping me find love and also wasn’t making me feel happy. So I put it all on the Universe List and joined a local political group of all things. Although I had read in certain spiritual books that politics could be ‘negative’, it felt good to me, and it was my guidance so I followed it. At first shy, I got my confidence up and began to speak to small groups of people. I became passionate about my local community. And then I met my ‘one’ as I now call him, through the organisation. The thing is I didn’t join the group to meet a man- and that seems to me a major point- I just followed my inner nudge to do something that I enjoyed and there he was.”
“I had been in some emotional pain over a relationship, and wasn’t sure what to do about it. It was a familiar pattern, and one which had caused me to totally avoid relationships for years if I’m honest. What your one-to-one appointments have done for me is to get me to rise above these ways of thinking and feel strong in my life. I am more secure than I have ever been, and your techniques do exactly what you said they would do. No false promises there. I’ve started dating someone again and I’m actually enjoying it- it’s a whole new quality of relationship. I will keep you updated. Thank you.”
I could not get unstuck and nothing happend. My sister said just keep “feeling good” like it has already happened and DO something… ANYthing, even if it is not to do with that project. I got out and made enquiries about loans to develop it knowing I would not qualify but deciding to believe. (my goal was to make one hundred thousand pounds profit and i visualized it in my account.
You need to be clear about what you truly want in a relationship, there are lots of questions to be asked here, and the crucial thing is that you be honest with yourself. Is it a life-long relationship? Is it a traditional “get married”, raise a family relationship? Is it a committed relationship living apart? You must decide what you truly want; sending the universe mixed messages via your thoughts will only lead to people who want different types of relationships coming into your life.
“I hadn’t dated anyone properly for over ten years – and I felt like I was a lost cause! However, having heard some of the inspiring stories through your workshop, I relaxed into the possibility that change could happen for me (because at first it just didn’t seem possible). I followed the guidance about which technique to do at which time – I meditated daily – and over the space of about two months, I began to noticeably feel better consistently. I began to let loose of my ‘love’ obsession and began enjoying what I already had. I started to do better in my career too, taking more care of my appearance and gravitating towards exercise. And then, through work, seemingly ‘out of the blue’, I met someone special – and it’s a very healthy and supportive relationship, exactly what I always wanted.”
For years I had success using the Law of Attraction in every area, except my love life. I never seemed to attract the specific person I wanted. Then I developed my strategies for using the Law of Attraction for love on a specific person and had immediate success. It happened so fast that I practiced it on multiple people just to see if it was a fluke. Within days, I would receive a phone call or email from the person I focused on.
“It’s been a year since I met my soul mate- and it just gets better and better. It all began when I came along to the groups and managed to distract myself so much with the good in my life (through daily appreciation and meditation) that I literally bumped into him in the street. It seems the phrase ‘you find love when you are not looking for it’ may be true. Yes, I wanted to meet someone but it seems that when I dropped my obsession, I met him.”
The Law of Attraction is a very simple spiritual law. If your energy field matches the results you wish to achieve, you will dramatically increase the chance of those results manifesting in your reality. Your beliefs, attitudes, emotions, dominant thoughts, and subconscious thoughts all contribute to our your energy field and determine what you will attract into your reality.
If you approach money like a power source of its own, then by trying to manifest it, you’re really trying to overpower it, and in such a contest you’ll usually lose. That contest, however, is completely internal — and pretty much insane. It’s like trying to arm wrestle yourself. How can you win? It’s a false reality you’re projecting because you aren’t ready to fully wield your own power yet.
The consciousness of our soul is also the real programmer of our life, that is, with it we have, before our birth in the body, programmed the main principles of our physical life, the patterns of experiences we intend to experience. (When it comes to the nature of the individual soul, you can get the best information from Michael Newton in his works; and when it comes to the position of the soul in this world, the best information can be obtained in the book Soul Guide On Planet Earth). This basic program of our soul can't be changed by the wishes of our physical mind or ego. We can only choose the details of his achievement. The consciousness of our soul decides which wills of our mind will be realized and which will not. This regulation is carried out through our higher mind, which has a direct connection with the spirit of our soul, and which has a far broader perspective than the ego, and therefore sees where this fulfillment of the desire would take us. Those desires that are in accordance with the program of experience of our soul, receive money, or resources for achievement, and those which are not in accordance with this program, won't receive anything. Our soul always keeps us away from anything bad as much as it can, but our mind is sometimes stronger.
Remember our experience is simply a mirror of what is happening within, and your money situation is no exception. Once you start making that shift internally, your outside experience has no choice but to shift along with it. That is how attraction works. No matter what your financial situation is like right now, it can get better. No matter how certain you are that money can only come to you through certain channels, you are wrong, plain and simple. 🙂

As with all Law of Attraction work, trying to manifest love requires you look at the underlying assumption that holds you back. In this case, limiting beliefs that might block you from finding love. Try to write them down first. Then identify where they came from. Most importantly, write down a contradictory belief that you can then turn into a daily affirmation. Here is an article to get you started with three tips for creating powerful affirmations.
