But, after seeing The Secret in 2006, I started digging deeper in how to practice creating my reality with my mind. I started attending the School of Metaphysics, which is an excellent course of study in the powers of mind. Armed with some level of knowledge of the LoA, and what I’d learned and practiced at the School, I decided to facilitate a Law of Attraction book study group - where we studied and practiced exercises around Wallace Wattles’ Science of Getting Rich, and Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. I developed a manifestation practice where my Mexico dream was top. I imagined myself retired - relieved from the stress of selling real estate… in an area of Mexico that reportedly has the world’s second best climate… where I’d visited only briefly 10 years previous, but knew from that brief encounter that that little village was where I wanted to live in Mexico when I retired.
“Me and my husband weren’t getting on at all and then I remembered something a woman said at the group who was in a similar situation. So I did a version of the Positive Aspects process: I went through the alphabet thinking of good qualities about him: A- Attractive when we went out last week, B- Bought me a beautiful birthday present, C- Committed to his family and work, D- Determined to feel good, E- Easy going and relaxed… And on I went. After a very short time my feelings of anger and criticism melted away. I began doing this process every day, in the morning before work. Initially I have to admit I wanted to do the processes to change him- but after a while I was doing it because it felt so good. Within a week or so he bought me flowers- he hasn’t done that for years. He started paying me compliments and now he’s booked a holiday for us. He also has told me how much he loves me and I, too, feel more in love with him than I have in a long time.”
When you investigate your thoughts and open up to new possibilities, you are in control of your feeling state. This gives you the power to instantly change your feeling state and align with the vibration of the feelings that you actually want to attract. When you’re feeling abundant, you’re going to have to get a bigger piggy bank to put all that money in that you attract.
I am not criticizing the LOA, I am in deep search of the true principle. I am even exploring it to it’s origins to try and see where it came from and who was REALLY successful with it. And unfortunately it comes down to the fact that the richest people from the LOA are the people who sell the theory. I don’t believe in Rhonda neither in any participants to THE SECRET. The only people whose theories I still believe in are Wallace Wattles and Florence Scovell-Shinn.
The CEO, Everton Anderson, sat at the head of the conference table and I positioned myself in the center of the long side of the table…right in his natural line of vision. I was listening keenly to his address. Speakers tend to seek an attentive listener to make eye contact with, so he found me and was often speaking directly to me (most of the others appeared disinterested).
My life transformed in the space of a few months purely through visualising what I wanted and FEELING what it would be like to have it. I’m not saying I have it all, far from it and I still have days where I lose hope, but I would say the most important thing when you’re feeling down is to simply try and raise yourself to a slightly better feeling. Keep doing that, until you’re in a place to start imagining what you want… the rest is written in the stars! If you are struggling to find a happier place, a quick and effective way to do it is be grateful. Think of all you are grateful of and it will undoubtedly lift you up.
There are also numerous references in the law of attraction community to the fact that the bigger you think, the more likely you are to attract it. Therefore, do not sell yourself short, and dream audacious dreams - as these are the only goals that will provide you with the strength of desire necessary to keep focussed when conflicting thoughts begin to emerge.
Step 1: Essentially, you need to make the decision that you really want to attract this life partner. Then, truly commit to the idea of spending the rest of your life with this person. Making this commitment may involve processing old wounds (e.g. via journaling or therapy). Hopefully, the past can be left behind and you can opt to embrace hope instead of fear.
