Things had not been perfect between us prior to that day, I can’t lie. We’d been struggling financially to the point of desperation for what felt like forever. We’d lost our home the year before and were forced into bankruptcy after our twins were born. Our life was in a noticeable negative tailspin. Losing everything we’d worked so hard to acquire had destroyed our pride and left us both feeling useless, helpless and miserable. I’d done everything I could think of to cut our budget and make it so we could pay the bills and still eat, but every month we fell further behind.
There is a trick to The Law of Attraction and it's not as magical as one might imagine: we attract the things that we focus on. When we focus on not having enough, that thought form supports the "lack of" we routinely experience. We are forever reminded to use affirmations and to keep our thoughts positive, but "feeling sorry for myself" continues to be the mantra of many people. Furthermore, we can be bombarded with repetitive negative phrases in our thinking, such as:
The Law of Attraction doesn’t work by just sitting there and wishing for these things to come to you. So I want you to just start by creating a detailed list of every step you’ll need to take to achieve your goals. I guarantee this will make it easier to move into action. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I am so glad you liked the post. I think a lot of people have that fear, so you are certainly not alone in that. One of the things that has helped me most with that is remembering how ‘challenging’ the human experience is, and knowing we all have our ‘stuff’ that we hold inside, bad things that have happened to us, etc.. For the most part, I think lots of people actually want to talk about these things and not feel like they are the only one struggling. Intellectually we know that isn’t true, but how we feel is often very different. When we think about it this way, sharing our own ‘stuff’ feels less scary. And, as you work on your attraction, you will naturally begin to meet up with people who you do feel comfortable with, and will not pull away when things get closer.
Since the Law of Attraction teaches that like attracts like, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that attracting love requires you to be a loving person! And it’s not only the romantic sense of love that matters here. There are little things that you can do to spread love every single day—one of the best examples is simply being nicer to strangers.
Another thing about feelings—get yourself out of situations that don’t feel like what you want. You don’t have to compromise or settle. You don’t have to experience a bunch of stuff that feels badly to also experience that which feels good. As you shore up your good energy, and stick to your standards and boundaries, these types of situations will naturally decrease, and at some point, move out of your experience completely.
And this shows you are on the right path, but all too often we twist it. We lament those people that share the same interests as us, or with whom we had those great conversations, didn’t ask for our number. We feel bummed when that date we thought would be so great, turned out to be not the best match. We think we are still not getting what we want, or there is still something ‘wrong’ with us.
Living “as if” can be a powerful way to help yourself to manifest love. What this means is that you should try to live every day not as though you’re looking for love but as though you’ve already found it! Embrace self-love and dress as you would if you were spending time with your partner. Try to make space for them in your home. See yourself as a person with a loving soulmate and a bright future, and make plans accordingly.
That week I sold everything we owned on Craigslist and filed for divorce. I took the money I made from our belongings to pay for first and last month’s rent on a really tiny, super-shitty two-bedroom apartment. I had just enough left over for one more month of rent and a few groceries. That was all the money I had in the world: I didn’t even have a bank account. My sister convinced me to get on food stamps, just until I got on my feet, and though I cried when the case worker took my story, I knew I had no choice. I applied for every job I could find, but interviews were few and far between. When the second month came and my rent money was gone, I sold my wedding rings on Craigslist for a fraction of their value; enough for one more month’s rent. When the women came to pick up my rings, she looked around our little apartment at my twins running around in their diapers and said, “I don’t want to know. Please don’t tell me the story.” She didn’t want my “bad luck” giving her new wedding rings negative juju.
When you meditate, that is your time it just sit in a quiet space and allow yourself to just chill and just be. It is not a time to think or to focus on what you want, but is instead the time you want to quiet your mind. You want to take just 10–15 minutes to sit in a quiet space and to just focus on one specific thing, for as long as you can during that time. It could be a mantra you repeat in your head, or a sound, like a ticking clock, or the sound of a fan. Something that is constant and repetitive, and easy to focus on. Because, when you stop thought and just focus on the one thing a few things begin to happen.
But! Apart from being commercial stuff it’s underlying intention is to motivate people to do stuff. If you imagine real hard that you are getting a jet plane for your birthday, well it probably wont happen unless you are friends with Bill Gates. But if you really want to have 100 new RSS subscribers it’s not bad to really want it and to think about it because it will drive action. You might not be aware of it but action is what produced your results, thinking about them just pushed you to work harder.
Many people are guilty of continuously repeating negatives either in thoughts or words. A negative mindset can be representative of a current life situation and attracting negatives can be living proof that the law of attraction works. Attracting positives and getting out of the routine of negative thinking can be possible with visualizations, affirmations, and manifestations.
How great would it be if you could call in your soul mate, the perfect person to spend the rest of your life with? Or become wildly successful and financially abundant? What if you could create anything you want and live a purpose-based life of happiness, joy, and total fulfillment? Learning how to manifest what your heart truly desires is something you’d love to master, right? The 2006 documentary The Secret inspired many to start thinking in new ways; did you hope that you, too, could manifest your dreams?
I've been reading about the law of attraction for a few months, and have enjoyed feeling happier and seeing "the world conspire to grant me my wishes" as I read somewhere. And amazingly enough, it also works for love! Truly does. And while you wait for things to happen (and trust me, they will) you become a happier, healthier person. What's not to love??
You can tell if your affirmation is positive or negative by the way it makes you feel. If it makes you feel great, it is positive. If it makes you feel bad, it is negative. It's that simple. If you find yourself thinking negative thoughts, simply turn them around and start focusing on the positive. You will immediately feel better and you will be in alignment with love.
After being in relationship with him for 3 years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. Does this mindset of want and lacking sound familiar to you? Strong and negative emotions surrounding money can come to consume your mind. It can also affect how you choose to live. But, after seeing The Secret in 2006, I started digging deeper in how to practice creating my reality with my mind. I started attending the School of Metaphysics, which is an excellent course of study in the powers of mind. Armed with some level of knowledge of the LoA, and what I’d learned and practiced at the School, I decided to facilitate a Law of Attraction book study group - where we studied and practiced exercises around Wallace Wattles’ Science of Getting Rich, and Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. I developed a manifestation practice where my Mexico dream was top. I imagined myself retired - relieved from the stress of selling real estate… in an area of Mexico that reportedly has the world’s second best climate… where I’d visited only briefly 10 years previous, but knew from that brief encounter that that little village was where I wanted to live in Mexico when I retired.
Got a lot out of this. We do most of this! Nice to read it form somebody else. We are sending heaps of positive vibes out into the universe, dreaming big, truly believing in ourselves (down to the core) and the best bit…we get a lot back form the universe! I don’t have any rituals per se, but there are certain things I do that help me feel more abundant. When I am enjoying something I paid for, whether a tasty meal, a massage or something else that gives me pleasure in some way, I really try to tune into the feeling of appreciation I have for it, and the sense of contentment I feel in that moment. I also try to develop a sense of appreciation for having money to pay bills..rather than feel like I am putting my money towards something I don’t want to put it towards, I express appreciation that I have the money to pay the bill. Awhile back, I went through really bad times financially, and the inability to pay my bills created a lot of shame and embarrassment,and I am happy not to be experiencing that anymore.
Thanks for this article ! its really encouraging, I have been reading about the LOA and the secret and all that for nearly two years now, I manifested my boyfriend, although we’ve broken up now, i still believe that we might be together one day again, or ill meet someone even better! either way, i am working to try and be happier, and not lose belief in the things i want to have! I sometimes give up because i just go about my day and forget to think positive etc, and be grateful for things, but im really working on it now and hopefully it will work! For example, these negative beliefs are like big holes in your container. Take a container and fill it with water. Water will not stay in the container if it has holes in it. The negative beliefs are like those holes in your container of prosperity. The more holes the less you can have. Unfortunately for many people, their container has nothing to hold at the bottom, forget about the holes.
No matter what your age, meditation is one of the easiest ways to improve your health. I also believe that out of nearly 7 billion people on this planet at this particular point and time in history, there is one person alive, living reasonably close to you – or planning to move there soon – who is the best possible match for you. In other words, out of all the people who exist, there’s one person who is exactly who you’ve been waiting for, and to that person, you are exactly what he/she has waited for, too.
Multi-sensory visualization. Take your creative visualization further and begin to spend longer daily sessions imagining every aspect of being with your soulmate. The stronger this mental image, the stronger the pull you will exert on them. Think not only about how they will look but also how they will sound, smell and feel. You might also try picturing significant moments in your life. For example, visualize events like sharing a bed for the first time, getting married or having children.
